Several times, over this past month, we’ve driven past a sign advertising for you to come and pick your very own strawberries. We love strawberries in our house. Whether you’re simply eating them out of the box, dehydrating them into little candies, or making a fancy recipe with them-I could eat them all day.

Big A had the day off yesterday, and we didn’t have any plans, so we decided ‘why not?’

It was a gorgeous day, the sun high in the sky and not a cloud to be seen-a redhead’s nightmare! I lathered up my boys in sunscreen, and then we were good to go. Little A picked the first berry of the day.

And didn’t let go of it until it was time to go home.

We went at like the PERFECT time. It wasn’t too busy, and the choice you had between strawberries was endless.

It was the first time either of us had ever visited a farm, and it truly was a delightful afternoon.

We ended up filling an entire gallons worth of strawberries, and were able to take them home for only 10 bucks! It was nice, because we were guaranteed that every single one of our berries was perfect, and up to our standards.

Strawberries aren’t in season for much longer, so we’ll definitely be taking another trip soon.

Until next time,

  • This is so goooooooood. I would love to do something like this! Sounds like you had a great time with great weather and your little boy looks content! He seems like he likes the squishiness of the strawb! Picking that many for only 10 dollars is 100% worth it! I hope I get to do this at some point! #KCACOLS

  • He probably would've held onto it all night if I would have let him. Oh, he was so sad when I took it away. He quickly forgot about it when I gave him a toy though (: Thanks for commenting!

  • We ate alllll of them, and have been out since yesterday! I think another trip is in order for sure (: Thanks for your lovely comment!

  • He wouldn't let go of it-I'm not sure why he enjoyed it so much, because he didn't even eat it! Oh, I'd love to make some jam! Do you have a recipe you'd like to share?

  • He did! And he threw a tantrum when we wouldn't let him take it, and all the squeezed pink goo around his fingers, into the car with him! He's a little goof, haha. Thanks for reading <3

  • I would definitely suggest heading out there! It doesn't take long, and you will enjoy every last strawberry! We're all out of the ones we picked, so we're heading back this weekend. Ha!

  • Winter?! I hope it's not too bad of a season there for you <3

  • Oh no, it's too bad you don't have the option where you live. It's just a fun hour or two in the sun, and I really love how you have soooo many choices so you can find the perfect strawberry (:

  • There really isn't, they're so delectably delish (: Thanks for reading!

  • Oh, I'll be back this Sunday for sure, I love #KCACOLS!

  • We saw a farm across the street from the strawberry farm that had blueberry picking, so we will definitely be visiting this July! It's becoming an addiction haha
Little man will be a lot older this fall, I bet he'd love cherry picking (:

  • They're so deliciously addicting, aren't they? Thanks so much for reading!

  • Hahahaha!!! That is too funny. I saw a little girl there absolutely eating her weight in strawberries, it was so cute.

  • Snow?! Oh man, I heard about the crazy weather you guys were getting! Where the heck is spring?!

  • Definitely! You will love it (:

  • The kids don't need to help for it to be fun!!! I would've had a blast by myself. Thanks for reading (:

  • I've only ever had strawberries from the store before now, and these were like a whole different breed of strawberry! So delicious. I'd love to go strawberry picking one day in Scotland! <3

  • Aw I just love that pic of your little boy with strawberry grasped in hand… you just know that he's not letting go anytime soon 😉 #kcacols

  • It's a brilliant day out gathering fruit and you look all look really happy!:)

The small amount I normally have left when we go out goes into jam or some sort of pastry. My boys normally eat most of it before it gets there though!

  • Haha I love that he grasped the strawberry that whole time.. we love fruit picking in this family, it often follows with jam making!!#KCACOLS

  • Aww great photos! The kidlet really did hold onto that strawberry the whole time huh? I see him holding it in the carrier too 🙂

  • Such lovely photos! I've never been strawberry picking, but there is a place near us where you can do it, so maybe this year will be the year we give it a go! x #KCACOLS

  • Fern

Oh I'm so jealous! We're heading into winter here in New Zealand, so I have a really long time to wait until it's strawberry season again!

  • Hi Savannah, I bet those strawberries were lovely! It's much more fun picking your own strawberries than buying them in punnets. I used to love an afternoon out at 'Pick Your Own' as a child (we don't have them here).

Love that Little A didn't want to part with his first strawberry too.

  • Aw, looks like a great day – there's nothing like freshly picked strawberries! 🙂 #KCACOLS

  • Looks like an absolutely lovely trip out. I always loved strawberry picking as a child. What a sweetie, holding on to the strawberry 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday

  • We did this when I was a kid, and take our children every summer, sometimes twice! Once you get into it you start looking for other things to pick! We pick blueberries, apples, and cherries now too! The kids love doing the cherries because they get tiny ladders so they can reach the short trees! #KCACOLS

  • fab picks! I remember strawberry picking as a kid 🙂 lots of fun and fond memories of just eating them all! #KCACOLS

  • I loved strawberry picking when I was a kid. I still remember my mum's guilty face escorting us from the fields, faces covered in strawberry. #KCACOLS

  • …#justanotherlinky x

  • I cannot wait to take our two strawberry picking this year! It'll be a few months before they're ready over here though… It snowed yesterday!? Looks like you had a great time xx

  • Oh I would love to go strawberry picking. I have never been so this is on my to do list! #KCACOLS
